Stuttgart, Germany, November 6, 2007 -- Oki Electric Cable Co., Ltd. (TSE: 5815) today unveiled a high-sliding resistance cable, the model 1394.b, an industry first in achieving 800Mbps transmission speed and high-sliding resistance of over 3million times. The cable is exhibited at Vision2007, held in Stuttgart, Germany (http://www.messe-stuttgart.de/VISION/vorank/english/index.htm) from November 6 to November 8 and will be displayed through a connection to cameras at the following stands: Hall 4, Stand A21 and A51 (Connected to Toshiba Telis' 'FireDragon'), Hall 4, Stand C40 (Connected to Sony's camera), and Point Grey Research's cameras at Hall 4, Stand A53 (Flea2) and Hall 2 Stand B38 (32 camera Grasshopper). The cable will be available from December 2007.

Nowadays, with the increase in demand for machine vision, a technology to detect defects in printing and product exteriors, there is a growing need for high-speed, high-sliding resistance cables to be based in such industrial equipment, particularly in industrial devices and robots. Oki Electric Cable succeeded in developing the "High-sliding resistance cable, model 1394.b" that achieves high-speed transmission and high-sliding resistance cable by adopting OKI's proprietary cable structure and carefully selecting the materials to be used.
