Newly developed FPC
Kawasaki, Japan, June 12, 2007 -- Oki Electric Cable Co., Ltd. (TSE: 5815) today announced it has developed an ultra thin highly flexible printed circuit (FPC) that is three times more flexible than conventional FPCs and thus enables wiring in tight space. The FPC is now available worldwide.
"We are delighted to unveil this FPC as it will now enable all types of wiring to be bent or folded for use in tight space ," said Takashi Hattori, President of Oki Electric Cable. "With this FPC we will contribute to the achievement of thinner and lighter digital electronics, medical and industrial equipment, and automotive systems, since such equipment requires higher density of components for advanced functionality."
The newly developed FPC can bend flexibly as if it were an Origami, and can readily conform to non-flat surfaces. It can be folded up to 60million times with 3mm bent radius.
