"ORP-I Series"
insulated wires for wiring within devices
Oki Electric Cable Co., Ltd. (President: Masasuke Kishi, Head Office: Kawasaki-shi, Kanagawa-ken, hereafter referred to as Oki Electric Cable) will commence sales of the "ORP-I Series" insulated wires with excellent movement durability that are ideal for wiring in moving parts inside devices on 15 September, 2015.
The "ORP Cable Series" high-flexure robot cables released by Oki Electric Cables in July 2009 are being widely used for the wiring of moving parts particularly in the field of industrial equipment. This product series uses Oki Electric Cable's tough, proprietary elastomer insulating material (*1) with superior sliding properties to achieve higher bendability and lower cost than the previously dominant fluorine resin insulated cables (*2).
In recent years, there is an increasing demand for robot cables with smaller diameter and lighter weight to cater for industrial equipment that continue to become smaller and lighter. To meet such market requirements, Oki Electric Cable has released a range of cable products including the super lightweight "ORP Slim Cable" with extremely small diameter, and the "ORP-D" featuring a voltage rating of 600 V with outer diameter equivalent to 300V rated cables.
Recently, there are increasing demands for insulated core wires that are suitable for wiring in confined spaces where sheathed (i.e. covered with a layer of coating on the outside) cables are difficult to use. To quickly meet this demand, Oki Electric Cable has newly released the "ORP-I Series" based on the insulated core wires of the "ORP Cable Series" for addition to the lineup of insulated wires for wiring inside devices.
The "ORP-I Series" is suitable for wiring in confined spaces inside devices thanks to smaller diameter and bending radius. The "ORP-I Series" uses special elastomer insulating material to inherit the excellent movability and affordability of the "ORP Cable Series".
Oki Electric Cable will expand sales of this product with immediate delivery availability and continue to strive to offer a wider range of products and services that leads to higher customer satisfaction.

Proprietary synthetic resin material with rubber-like elasticity. It has excellent rigidity and sliding properties enabling higher movability than fluorine materials.
These cables use fluorine resin as insulator for the conductor to achieve excellent sliding/bending properties during movement and are being widely adopted in robot applications.
