Overview

This is a newly designed vinyl cabtyre (VCT) cable that reduces conducted noise generated by inverters and other switching equipment. By balancing the earth (ground) conductor with the three power cores and bringing the earth and power conductors closer together, it lowers the inter-conductor impedance and enhances attenuation of noise components propagating along the cable to a level comparable to shielded vinyl cabtyre (VCT‑SB) cables.

Features

Although unshielded, it delivers noise immunity (noise reduction) comparable to shielded cables.
Achieves outer diameter and weight reductions of about 5–10% versus conventional vinyl cabtyre cables (VCT) and about 20% versus shielded vinyl cabtyre cables (VCT‑SB).
Noise immunity is obtained simply by tying the split drain wires together and grounding them; no cumbersome shield termination is required, making end termination easy.
Compliant with the Electrical Appliances and Materials Safety Act (PSE).
Compliant with the RoHS Directive.
Available in 10 m increments; we supply the lengths you require.

Applications

As a power cable for inverter-controlled equipment:
It shunts switching noise generated by inverters to ground, reducing the noise impact on equipment.
Example applications: inverter-controlled motor-drive equipment (elevators, pumps, HVAC units), power supplies, lighting equipment, etc.
As a power cable for use in factories and offices:
It reduces noise coupling onto power lines from external sources, helping prevent malfunctions of electrical and electronic equipment.

Termination Method

①Gather the three ground (earth) wires at the center of the cable.
②Evenly twist the three ground (earth) wires together.
③To prevent the twisted ground (earth) wires from unraveling, protect and insulate them with insulating tape or heat-shrink tubing.
