OH cable

Overview

These are cables suitable for wiring in food processing and manufacturing equipment. They contribute to food hygiene by being compatible with the harsh cleaning and disinfection processes involved in sanitation management for food safety and security.
Features
- The jacket material is compliant with the Food Sanitation Act and FDA*1, preventing risks such as contamination when in direct contact with food, and ensuring food safety and security.
- The cables have resistance to cleaning fluids, disinfectants, and various oils, and maintain their original performance without cracking due to deterioration of the jacket material.
- These cables are made to order*2 to match the properties and functions of your food manufacturing equipment. They are compatible with movable applications, and can be used for applications that include fixed parts.
- *1. FDA: Food and Drug Administration
- *2. We work with you to determine the cable specifications, etc.
Applications
- Applicable equipment (for food): Processing equipment, manufacturing equipment, robots, manufacturing lines, etc.
- Applicable uses: Measuring/controlling, powering, sensing, etc.

- *3. These are comparative test results based on our proprietary methods.
We test changes in material properties (tensile strength and elongation) due to immersion in disinfectants, ethanol, oils, and the cleaning fluids that would be used when cleaning food manufacturing equipment*4. According to our standards, we consider a material property retention rate of 90% or higher after testing to be acceptable. We have therefore confirmed that OH Cables show no deterioration and retain satisfactory values.

We perform pivoting/bending tests on a sample that would be used in a moving part of a food manufacturing machine after immersion in a disinfectant solution (e.g.,ethanol). Cracks were observed in general movable cables (jacket: oil-resistant PVC), but not in OH Cables (jacket: special elastomer material).
